Flipping Burgers Never Looked So Cool

There's this seat-yourself diner way out of town. You stop in for lunch and grab a bar stool near the kitchen. The waiter takes your order: a bacon cheeseburger with golden brown fries.

The cook in the back must've overheard what you ordered because a patty has already hit the grill, quickly sizzling to perfection. Then you hear the boiling oil in the fryer, ready to receive fresh-cut potatoes.

At first it looks totally normal. A cook flipping a burger, whistling a tune. But as soon as he flips the burger, he lifts the "spatula" slightly, loosens his grip, and the kitchen tool spins around his index finger, and he catches it. Then he uses it to flip the burger again. Clean.

That's no spatula. But it's not just a balisong either. Who dis?

We call it the Tatersong: Fry Cook Trainer. That may sound familiar, but this time it fits nicely in the back of your local diner or dive.

The Tatersong Fry Cook joins our menu on Nov 3rd. Wishlist today.

Flytanium Fries are Frying

If you like making burgers, you might as well flip the tool you're using to flip 'em.

The idea for the Tatersong originally started in 2021 with a concept for a generously jimped balisong that just happened to be 3D printed in a bright yellow filament. We forgot to change the color. "Hey, that looks like French fries."

Turning it into the monstrosity you all know and love was the only choice.

There's something unavoidably funny about taking a perceived dangerous object, that's high end, and merging it with a joke concept and one of the goofiest shapes on the planet.

So in late 2025, we decided to revive the Tatersong.

But why in a trainer version?

Tatersong is still one of our most viewed and demanded products. We wanted to bring the design back in a way that would honor the OG live blade version while giving more people the chance to experience the silliness.

Seeing the success of the Zenith Trainer 2.0, releasing an imported trainer on the Tatersong platform was a natural solution.

All Fry Cook Trainers are cooked with:

  • Hardened Spatula Trainer Blade
  • Crispy Crinkle Cut Handles
  • Anodized instead of Cerakote
  • Smooth Bushing Pivot System
  • Tasty Tactile Bite Indicator
  • Ketchup Red Bali Boot
  • Paracord Lanyard
  • Yellow PVC Crinkle Cut Fry Bead
  • Bonus Crinkle Cut Torx T10 Driver

The main goal with our balisongs has always been to bring as many new people into the balisong space as possible. A fun, well-priced trainer is a great step towards that mission.

Straight out of the Tatersong fryer, the Fry Cook is an all-new addition to our menu.
