Two people running the show with a knife in each of their pockets. That's how it all started.
But it didn't stop there.
While the Talisong Z was our first knife, it wasn't alone for long. We would eventually release the Arcade®, Zenith Trainer, BEEF™, Concourse, Minim, Theory — and everything in between, including oodles of parts, tools, and accessories.
Before we knew it, our small team of two quickly turned into 10 with more on the way. As new products filled our shelves, the need for more desks grew.
As we continue to expand, we'll never lose sight of our original vision — to create stuff that you can carry and customize. That's what keeps our work so meaningful and fun.
We plan to keep on releasing exciting products, while doing cool things and being our weird selves. So stick with us for many more knife adventures.
A huge player in bringing all of this to life is our Operations Manager, Amanda.

Underwater Basket Weaving Manager
I’m Amanda, and I’ve been with Flytanium for over 10 years, running things behind the scenes. I’m thrilled to have a much more robust and talented team sharing the load in the last five years.
At home, you’ll find me baking, taking on a DIY renovation project, or up to my ears in craft supplies. I’m a terrible cook, but I compensate with dessert. I speak fluent French, and I understand way more Spanish than I can speak. I enjoy hiking, spending my weekends off grid in the desert, and going thrift shopping.
My most obscure hobby is underwater basket weaving, and yes, it’s as weird as it sounds. I’ve been weaving since I was seven years old, and I rarely follow a pattern. I’m mildly obsessed with mid-century Lucite grapes and grape-themed glassware. My most prized grape item is a working Lucite grape hanging lamp. I also absolutely love LEGO, and someday I’ll own the giant Eiffel Tower kit (fingers crossed).
Last summer, I hiked Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park with my husband for the first time and learned that I do not have a fear of heights. I’m headed there again this spring!
I love our growing Flytanium team, and I'm eager to see what the next 12 years have in store.
